THE ISLAND OF DISCOVERY KAUAI
Be delighted by Kauai, where you’ll never forget the picturesque landscape covered with amazing, verdant scenery. Kauai is the greenest of the Hawaiian islands, bearing plant life galore.
Fringing the coastlines of this roughly circular-shaped island are resort areas of the North Shore featuring Princeville, the eastern Coconut Coast, Lihue and Poipu to the south. Within these sun-soaked paradises, you’ll find luxurious resorts, shopping galore, golf, hiking and much more! A favorite among visitors is the Napali Coastline, only accessible by air or sea.Fern Grotto–North of Lihue, the Fern Grotto is one of Kauai’s most popular attractions. The grotto is a natural lava-rock grotto lush with hanging ferns. Once an exclusive destination for Hawaiian royalty, this stunning natural backdrop is only accessible via the Wailua River.
Na ‘Aina Kai Botanical Gardens– Spanning 240 acres, Na ‘Aina Kai is a living mosaic of 13 diverse and bounteous gardens, a hardwood plantation, a moss and fern-draped canyon and a pristine sandy beach, stretching between a meadow and the aquamarine waters of the Pacific. Gracing the gardens and wild areas throughout this once-private estate are more than 70 bronze sculptures, one of the nation’s largest collections.
Napali Coast State Park–Napali Coast State Park is one of the most popular and heavily used wilderness areas in the state. Literally translated as “the cliffs,” Napali offers some of the most dramatic scenery in all of Hawaii. Boating and hiking are the ways to explore the 15-mile long state park.
Spouting Horn–On Kauai’s south shore is the spectacular Spouting Horn. The Poipu surf channels into a natural lava tube here and releases a spout of water up to 50 feet high. You will hear a hiss and an eerie groan that is explained through Hawaiian legend.
Waimea Canyon–Waimea Canyon, on Kauai’s west side, is a 3,500-foot deep canyon that provides stunning panoramic views of crested buttes, rugged crags and deep valley gorges. The grand inland vistas go on for miles, which is why Waimea is nicknamed “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific.”
